Spicy Passion Fruit Cocktail Recipe

Our Blue Osa signature Spicy Passion Fruit Cocktail comes to you from the shores of Costa Rica.

If you’re wanting to wake up your senses with the Spirit of the Osa Peninsula, you’ve got to try this Costa Rican concoction.

Passion Fruit

Before we get into the recipe, we want to spotlight one very special ingredient that deserves to be talked about: passion fruit.

This gift from Mother Earth is so beautiful and so unique that it looks like it could be a made up fruit from the movie Avatar. But we have great news, not only is passion fruit real, it’s packed with health benefits!

To green passion fruits and a blooming passion flower with white petals and a deep purple center growing on a plant.

It contains high levels of vitamin A, which is important for skin, vision, and the immune system. It also contains magnesium which is an important mineral that scientists have linked with decreased stress and anxiety.

Fiber is another superpower of this fruit. Fiber helps regulate the digestive system and keeps the gut healthy, preventing constipation and bowel disorders.

Passion fruit is rich in antioxidants, especially Vitamin C, which are compounds that help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body while also reducing cellular stress and inflammation in the body.

Do you see why a yoga retreat might be serving passion fruit cocktails to our beloved guests?

But it doesn’t stop there. Passion fruit also has a low glycemic index (GI) value. This means that it does not cause a steep increase in blood sugar after eating it, making it a good option for people with diabetes.

Potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, niacin, and vitamin B-6 are also nutrients produced in passion fruit.

Need we say more to convince you to add this miracle fruit into your diet?

Farm-To-Table Cocktail

At Blue Osa, we craft this farm-to-table cocktail using homegrown jalapenos and mint from our organic garden while we locally source the passion fruit and lemons.

We also like to use Costa Rica’s staple liquor, Cacique, but you can substitue vodka and coconut rum as shown in the video below.

This infusion is overflowing with the exotic essence of the tropics, adding a little heat with each sip.

So give this fiery cocktail a try or book your dream Costa Rican vacation at Blue Osa and let our welcoming staff craft one for you.
