About Your Yoga Instructor:

Genell

Genell Huston is Lila’s studio owner, Hatha yoga teacher, mom, dedicated partner, and keen adventurer. The practice of yoga has been inspiring her life since 1999 through movement, intention, reflection, deep study, practice, and bliss. She brings her bright personality, keen understanding of alignment, creative sequencing, and love for the practice of living life to each class. Expect to move with thoughtful engagement and to challenge yourself to be present with your breath and body throughout class.

Genell sees yoga as a way of life; she believes in the practice involving and evolving into more than just asanas (physical postures). She continues to be inspired to grow her understanding of this life with ongoing curiosity, questioning, studying, practicing, and being. The way this looks varies on the needs of the flow of the day, family, community, nature, and self. Sometimes this is practicing asanas, sitting in silence, tending to her two boys’ needs, participating in the community, or landing in wild spaces.

The practices of Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, began inspiring her way of being in 2014. She is a certified Yoga Health Coach, mentoring clients 1:1 as well in group settings to support people stepping into their own vibrancy and wellbeing.

She teaches local weekly classes in Portland, Maine, offers 200hr YA certified Teacher Trainings, international retreats, habit evolution courses, and seasonal cleanses.
