Queer + Trans Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica

LGBTQIA + Wellness and Radical Revelry where the Rainforest Meets the Beach. Let’s heal together and reclaim our radiance!

A tropical beach Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica just for LGBTQIA+ folks? YES. Sacred play, nature connection, deep rest, radical spirituality, queer JOY!

Imagine feeling completely at peace with who you are.
Being able to fully breathe, relax and laugh.
To expand through strong, gorgeous embodied healing in community.
To feel fresh gratitude inspired by tender intimacy with nature.
To dwell in deep rest.
And open up to the pleasure of just being present…

Being queer is a blessing, but navigating a cis het world steeped in systemic oppression is exhausting, complex, and heartbreaking.

In order to survive, maybe you’ve sometimes disconnected from your body, your needs, parts of your sweet, sacred self. While it’s gotten you this far, you know it’s time for a deep shift.

It’s time for a deep care reset.

You are so worthy of this type of luscious, transformative journey. Give yourself permission to untangle the inner knots, to relax, and awaken to the deeper authentic expression of who you are.

In doing so, you create space for that journey for everyone around you, which empowers all the way we’re showing up for collective change.

About Your Yoga Instructor:

Avery

Avery Kalapa (they, them) has a huge crush on life! They are a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, community weaver, and queer and trans wellness organizer; eRYT500, YACEP, BFA. Avery has over 20 years of experience in yoga; their approach is rooted in anti-oppression: yoga for inner healing and collective liberation.

They love creating affirming healing spaces that don’t require assimilation.
All people, especially folks who have been left out of or turned off by mainstream yoga spaces should have access to the revitalizing nourishment of deeply informed, classical yoga that goes beyond fitness.

Celebrated for their enthusiasm, accessibility, and depth of technique, their teaching reflects deep gratitude for the Iyengar Lineage.

They are a creative, rigorous, playful, and compassionate teacher who offers a vast knowledge of integrative functional anatomy, stability, and embodied philosophy that empowers their students to experience tangible positive transformation in body-mind, and consciousness.

“Avery’s yoga instruction provides an incredibly vital space for deep rest, rejuvenation, grounding, and reconnection with body. As someone living within a non-binary experience, and at times dysphoria, Avery’s yoga practice is always a helpful kind guidance back to self.”
— Mel (they, them)
“Avery has always made me feel at ease in their classes. As a genderqueer person, this has not always been the case in typical yoga spaces. Avery creates an environment of growth through their direction and presence. One that encourages me to challenge myself, working with my body, not against it, with gentle reminders to stay present.”
— -Patti (she/ her)
