About Your Teacher Kate
My love affair with yoga began in 2014 when I took a free community class at a downtown studio in Charleston, SC. I had tried yoga on my own and a few times with video assistance, but never thought I was doing it right unless candles were lit and soft Indie music played in the background. But, there was something about being in that first studio. As I began breathing and was joined by the breath of fellow yogi’s and soul searchers around me, my inner fire LIT UP and as a united group, we created an energy I had never experience before. That class broke me open and made me stare at myself head on. There was no ability to run from what was going on mentally, physically and emotionally at that moment. As scary as that was, it was also liberating.
I was hooked.

“Kate is a gem. She is a real teacher coaching me through poses and encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone and challenge myself. She offers words of encouragement and her classes are hands on as she provides corrections and adjustments so I can improve my practice. I know I am taking my yoga practice to the next level as I am not just going through the motions but making that mind to body – body to mind connection.”
~Maura Hasenfuss, Charleston, SC
“As someone relatively new to my yoga practice, I was nervous about going to Rise in Sedona, Arizona. There was no need for any anxiety as Kate welcomes everyone regardless of ability level or place in life. She took care of all the planning and prep so that we could completely relax and be in the moment. With the techniques that Kate used, I was able to break through several mental barriers that were holding me back in my practice. I still employ several of these strategies to this day. I was able to use my time there to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The time spent pouring into myself, enabled me to come home to my family and give more to them. I am truly thankful for this experience and will be attending another of Kate’s retreats soon. I highly recommend any trip that Kate is a part of.”
