Inspiring Yogis

15 Inspiring Yogis You Need To Follow On Instagram

There’s something simply beautiful about the body’s ability to bend, twist and invert into different forms and poses. And while we always emphasize the importance of practicing yoga for the total mind-body-spirit practice it is, we still love to get inspiration from our favorite instafamous yogis!

There are countless yogis to follow on Instagram, but what follows are 15 of our favorite. We know you’ll be inspired by the unique expressions of their personal yoga journeys, too!

Note: Remember that your yoga journey is unique to you. Only attempt any of the poses you see on Instagram if you feel it is right for your body.

1. @gypsetgoddess

Caitlin Turner of Gypset Goddess is one of our favorite fun-loving globetrotters. Her Instagram account takes yoga off the mat and onto mountaintops, beaches, landmarks and other unlikely places around the world. We firmly believe that both travel and Yoga make the world a better place—if you can combine the two, then all the better!

2. @beachyogagirl

Kerri Verna combines her love for the ocean with her love for Yoga on her hugely successful Instagram feed. Kerri inspires people to be the best they can be with her mind-boggling AcroYoga poses. We love Kerri for showing how powerful the female body can be, and of course for the gorgeous colors and beach sunsets that often serve as the backdrop!

3. @yogabeyond

No compilation of yoga instagrammers would be complete without Honza and Claudine. This stunning couple share equally stunning AcroYoga shots, where one partner typically serves as the foundation while the other seemingly soars overhead. We admire their mission to build trust and community within the yoga world, as well as their graceful power.

4. @lauraskyora

Laura Skyora is one gorgeous and playful yogi. The Instagram star’s feed is full of fun inversions and inspiring balances, but hands-down our favorite photos are the ones that include Laura’s beautiful family. When the mommy-daughter duo pair up in matching yoga pants, it’s almost too cute to handle.

5. @yoga_girl

Rachel Brathren is the yoga girl, a Swedish native who now inspires yogis from her home base in Aruba. @yoga_girl is one of the largest yoga Instagram accounts in the world, and it doesn’t take long to understand why. Whether she’s striking a pose on a Stand-Up Paddle Board or snapping a selfie with her pup, Rachel is one genuinely authentic yoga girl you can’t help but love.

6. @fitqueenirene

Irene Pappas is all about exploring the capabilities of the human body. Her flexy and bendy postures often take inspiration from hand balancers, circus performers and even contortionists. We love her passion for sharing yoga and finding the perfect balance of both strength and flexibility in her postures.

7. @hiptoyourjive

We could all use a little more calm in the chaos, and that’s exactly what @hiptoyourjive is about. With simple backdrops that allow the angles and bends of the yoga postures to shine, this Instagram account will encourage you to drop your mat and practice no matter where you are!

8. @thewholetara

@thewholetara is truly the whole package—a health coach, yoga instructor and student in pursuit of her registered dietitian credentials. We love following Tara’s Instagram, not only for the yoga inspiration but also for the colorful, delicious and healthy meal ideas, too! If you want to get inspired to take your yoga practice inward, this is one account not to miss.

9. @tjhark

Taylor Harkness is the yoga teacher and all-around cutie behind @tjhark. His motto is “Shine On”, a reminder to be your best self in all aspects of life. We love how Taylor mixes up his yoga poses with plenty of snapshots from his everyday life, including adorable puppies and laughter-filled moments with friends.

10. @yYogi_Aaron

Yogi Aaron, author of “Autobiography of a Naked Yogi” is the co-owner of Blue Osa Yoga Retreat and Spa, where he brings passion and adventure to countless students through his teachings and lectures. Inspired by his own practice, he guides students to secret and far-flung locales, empowers them to realize their own limitless potential, and makes yoga relevant and accessible for the modern world. Since 2002 he has been traveling and leading retreats worldwide. He currently serves as the yoga director leading the One-Month Immersions Yoga Teacher Trainings at Blue Osa.

11. @brianmilleryoga

Brian of @brianmilleryoga is a travelling yoga teacher based out of Montreal. But he doesn’t just share inspiring photos, Brain also features video clips of him powerfully but effortlessly transitioning in and out of poses. Along with the videos are great descriptions for each of the postures, as well as the various effects they have on the body. Awesome for learning and for inspiration!

12. @stephynow

When you combine a photographer with a yogi, you’re bound to create a stunning Instagram feed! Stephanie Birch of @stephynow has some of the most beautiful photos we’ve ever seen, coupled with inspiring reflections and tidbits of wisdom. It’s the simplicity of Stephanie’s photos that make them so stunningly memorable, along with her poignant writing.

13. @kathy0805

What happens when you merge a ballerina and a yogini? You get Kathy from @kathy0805. Kathy moves and stretches her legs in ways we never knew possible, often in bright and eye-catching yoga pants. Our favorite photos are when Kathy gets out to play in nature, integrating trees and rocks into her poses.

14. @kinoyoga

Kino of @kinoyoga encourages her followers to change their world one pose at a time. Her lovely photos and contagious laugh are certainly enough to make us want to take our practice to the next level! Kino says she is one of the few people in the world of yoga to embrace both the traditional teaching of India’s historic past and the popular contemporary social media channels.

15. @chelseykorus

Based out of L.A., Chelsey is one strong and powerful yogi. Her journey of movement encourages people to look inward and be the best that they can be, combining a deep spirituality with the physical body. We especially love her video captures and fun Instagram filters.

These are our favorite yogi instagrammers, but we want to know who you follow on Instagram, too! And while you’re at it, be sure to stop by and follow @BlueOsa for yoga and wellness inspiration via the pristine shores of Playa Tamales, Costa Rica.
