Unveiling Your Mastery And Purpose in the Mystical Practices Of Yoga: 200-Hour Prana Yoga Teacher Training Immersion

In class and in your practice you had those moments: Epiphany. Stillness. Lightness. Energy. Vitality. Steadfastness. A Shift in Perception. Awakening.

Now you’re open to more.

The Blue Osa 200-hour yoga teacher training immersion in The Mystical Practices of Yoga will help you deepen your spiritual practice.

It’s a rare offering. It’s easy to find classes preparing you to be an instructor…

…but this particular training + eco-resort retreat is a spiritual quest.

It’s about taking a journey. It’s about connecting intimately with the mystical practices of yoga — the ones you hear about and read about but few people experience or practice.

The Mystical Practices of Yoga one-month prana yoga teacher training immersion will not only unlock those mysteries, but will introduce you to a tradition that has been passed on from teacher to students for thousands of years.

If yoga was Star Wars, these mystical practices are the school of jedi masters.

It’s a deep immersion in these teachings of yoga — not just learning them as a subject but experiencing and practicing them directly. You’ll learn how to apply them in your life so that you get to know yourself truly and deeply.

The Mystical Practices of Yoga Prana Yoga Teacher Training Immersion at Blue Osa in Costa Rica is a foundational (200–hour) program for serious students of yoga, teachers and aspiring teachers. It is recognized by Yoga Alliance and comprises three areas of study: The Theory and Practice of Yoga, Yoga Philosophy, and The Art of Teaching.

A key component of this teacher training will be a complete and in-depth study and practice of the power of pranayama. You will practice pranayama for at least two hours every day so that when you leave, you will have authentic, direct experience in this practice and be fully confident in your ability to teach what you have learned.

In Your Prana Yoga Teacher Training, You Will Learn:

  • The energetic effects of asana
  • The science and application of Mantra (the transformation science of sound)
  • The Koshas and how they are a gateway to complete fulfillment in life
  • How to fully access the full evolutionary power of the chakras and the complete potential of what they can be in your life
  • How to sequence and structure transformational 60 and 90 minute classes that will deeply affect the lives of your students.
  • The ascending power and grace of Kundalini Yoga
  • Kriya Yoga (as passed down from the Himalayan Tradition)
  • Laya Yoga
  • Yoga Nidra as taught by the Himalayan tradition and western tradition
  • Several meditation techniques to calm the mind and awaken your spirit
  • The mystical art of fire and ritual. You will learn how to conduct your own as well as lead them in group situations
  • Several meditation and ritual techniques to purify the physical, energetic and mental body

The specific physical and spiritual knowledge you’ll learn and practice at the Blue Osa One Month Prana Yoga Teacher Training will help you become more certain, steadfast and strong —

— which means you’ll be truly and deeply ready to offer this space to your students. And Yourself.

Meet Your Teacher

Aaron is a Master Teacher and the author of Autobiography of a Naked Yogi. He has been a student of yoga since 1991 and a teacher since 1997, studying with Alan Finger, Bryan Kest, Genny Kapuler, Rod Stryker, Swami Rama and David Swenson in yoga ashrams and retreat centers around the world. Aaron has made pilgrimages seeking to understand the Vedic tradition and Tantric path and studied closely with numerous spiritual masters during his treks throughout the Himalaya Mountains. His experience leading workshops around the world inspired him to open a retreat and cultivate an intimate yoga community in Costa Rica — and so the Blue Osa Yoga Retreat and Spa was born.

Blue Osa welcomes 800 yogis per year and is the setting for Yogi Aaron’s fully accredited series of One-Month Immersion Teacher Trainings. As a teacher, his ultimate goal is to provide a space for people to fully realize the possibilities of their own limitless potential. Over the years, Aaron has helped countless students and seekers use yoga to fine-tune their senses, call forth their best selves, discover their life purposes, and experience the sublime, divine flow within each of us.

Check Out What Others Had To Say

  • “Blue Osa itself was amazing – from the scarlet macaws to the beach to Marie’s great cooking. But the best part was working with Aaron and the student teachers. When I went to Blue Osa for teacher training in 2011, my intent was to teach a class or two, substitute teach and grow my practice. From these experiences I now teach more, create new practices and continue to learn and grow more than I could have imagined. I now have my own studio and continue to be more passionate about yoga every day.”

  • Aaron was a delight and I thoroughly enjoyed his quirky sense of humor and his hearty laugh. Aaron exudes an air of acceptance so when you are with him you feel you can be totally yourself and there is no need to hide. He is very knowledgeable and it is clear that he is a well-practiced yogi with a lot of insight to share. He always stood firm in his beliefs and who he was and that is something I greatly admire, his sense of security.

  • “Through Yogi Aaron, yoga teacher training has helped me not only become a good teacher but helped me grow into my most authentic self! If you’re serious about your yoga practice, whether you want to teach or not, I highly recommend you take teacher training! It’s very transformative. You’ll thank me when you’re done!”

    Hollis New York, NY
  • “Yogi Aaron’s Yoga Teacher Training at Blue Osa is totally amazing in every way. I loved the structure and the length of the training. Even though 28 days seems like a long time to be away from your regular life, it’s actually a perfect amount of time to really learn how to teach yoga and to embody all of the practices Aaron shares with you.

I was surprised by how easy it was to wake up with the sun rise every morning. I loved starting each day with the meditation and breathing exercises.

I was so grateful for all the little things that were well planned and so thoughtful during my stay. The food was fresh, healthy, varied and delicious. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our rooms were cleaned every day and a laundry service was provided once a week. The grounds and surrounds are magnificent and being right on the beach were such a bonus. There was one afternoon when it was raining and umbrellas were left for us so we could walk the short distance to our rooms or the dining area without getting wet.
I looked at quite a few options for YTT but kept coming back to Blue Osa. Trusting this decision is one of the best things I have ever done!! Thank you Blue Osa team xox”

FAQ’s

While hatha yoga is at the core of what we do, we differentiate ourselves by offering a holistic approach to yoga that emphasizes function over form. We believe yoga should be tailored to the individual, and that a good yoga teacher knows how to facilitate a unique practice to meet unique needs. The Blue Osa YTT methodology has been influenced by multiple traditions, including Vinyasa, Iyengar and Anusara yogas.

Yogi Aaron has spent a considerable amount of time in India and has been taught directly from the Himalayn Tradition.
Aaron also has a strong background in yoga therapy and brings in therapeutic elements when appropriate.

Very few people ever take the opportunity to fully immerse in a yoga practice. Through experience, Yogi Aaron has experienced and see that a concentrated, intensive experience like this offers profound rewards. You accelerate the pace of your learnings and gain both spiritual insight and spiritual momentum. An immersion like this takes you on a deeper journey within yourself. The Blue Osa One-Month Immersion Yoga Teacher Training takes you on a journey of deep yogic practice to cultivate a direct experience of these teachings. We see too many teachers teaching practices in the world who do not have this experience and giving practices the have no direct knowledge of. Each of our yoga students each come with unique goals. Some want to get their yoga certificate to teach yoga. Others want to answer deep and meaningful questions about their life. And still, others want to live a more meaningful life through yoga.

Yogi Aaron’s approach to teaching yoga teachers is based on the principle that wisdom and knowledge are acquired through direct experience. When you participate in the Blue Osa Prana Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica, you give yourself the gift of space and intention. Fully immersing yourself in yoga for one month allows you to use yoga to ask and answer profound questions and discover what yoga can mean in your life.

We warmly welcome students of any and all backgrounds. The only commitment required is that you are willing to show up and fully participate.

Absolutely. Even if you are relatively new to yoga, these yoga teacher trainings are an excellent way to learn the art of yoga and cultivate a strong foundation for your life-long practice. One of the strengths of our approach to yoga is how adaptable it is to the student. No matter where you are, there is a practice for you. And frankly, some of the best teachers are the ones who can’t contort their bodies into pretzel shapes. Their limitations end up being an asset to their students.
Yes, we will spend time discussing the logistics of developing your own business as a yoga teacher.
